BWT Alpine F1 Team is pleased to confirm the signing of Dutch driver Kruimel as its full-time race driver for the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
Kruimel will partner Pierre Gasly, forming an exciting blend of experience and youthful potential as Alpine enters a new chapter in its F1 journey. Known widely for his success in competitive sim racing and his performance in last year’s F1 evaluation test, Kruimel makes the step up to the highest level of motorsport after turning heads across the digital and real-world paddocks alike.
Bruno Famin, Team Principal, BWT Alpine F1 Team:
“We are thrilled to welcome Kruimel to the Alpine family. His route into Formula 1 is unconventional, but his talent and adaptability are undeniable. He impressed us not only with his raw speed during testing, but also with his feedback, calm under pressure, and relentless work ethic. We believe he brings something fresh to the team — and we’re excited to see how he grows alongside Pierre.”
Kruimel:
“It’s hard to put into words what this means to me. From racing online with friends to now sitting on the Formula 1 grid — it’s a dream come true. I know this opportunity comes with pressure and expectations, but I’m ready to give everything I have to the team. I can’t wait to get started and represent Alpine at the highest level.”
